Why You’re Better off at Broadleys This Summer

Why You’re Better off at Broadleys This Summer

How we are changing Reading Why You’re Better off at Broadleys This Summer 5 minutes Next Beyond the Shop Floor

Broadleys, your local clothing store

Now that the UK COVID-19 lockdown has eased somewhat, many people will be eager to resume some sense of normality in their lives. And what better way to do that than going out onto the High Street and doing some shopping. After all, having spent an abnormally long period of time at home, you could do with a treat or two.

But while the restrictions we’ve been living under for the past couple of months are slowly being lifted, the threat posed by the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) remains very real and we’ll all need to adjust to the so-called ‘new normal’ for at least the time being.

Here at Broadleys, we’ve been serving the people of East Grinstead for more than 100 years. As you can imagine, we’ve gone through a lot of changes during that time, which is why adapting to the post-COVID era is something we’ve managed to do, despite the associated challenges.

We actually reopened on Wednesday 17 June, albeit with a bunch of new measures in place that are designed to afford a safer shopping experience for our customers.

Here’s why you should consider paying us a visit next time you’re out and about in East Grinstead.

You’re safer at Broadleys

First and foremost, we have made a number of changes in-store so that you and our other customers all have a safe, socially distanced shopping experience. We’re actually pretty lucky in that East Grinstead is a relatively quiet town and our store is large, which makes social distancing that bit easier.

Nevertheless, to further improve customer safety, we are only letting six people enter the store at any one time. There’s also sanitiser for your hands as you enter and markers on the floor to help you keep at a safe distance from other shoppers.

Personalised service & no quibble exchange policy

Here at Broadleys, you get a personalised, intimate service that only comes when you shop with an independent retailer. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff are there to assist you in any way they can.

While you won’t be able to try any clothes on at the moment because our fitting rooms are temporarily closed, we will allow you to purchase items, take them home and try them on, then bring them back for a full refund or exchange if they don’t fit.

Private shopping and home delivery

Prefer an ever safer shopping experience? With our private shopping service, you can literally have the whole store to yourself! It’s perfect if you’re still a little wary of being too close to other people and/or just want a really special experience at Broadleys. Email us to find out more: info@broadleys.co.uk

Another service we’re currently offering is free home delivery (local area). If you’re not sure how you’ll get all the stuff you’ve bought safely home, we’ll take care of it for you. You can either shop online at www.broadleys.co.uk or come in and see us.

A huge choice of top brands

Despite having our doors open to the East Grinstead public for over 100 years, we remain one of the leading independent stores in Sussex. We sell loads of well known designer brands, including Hugo Boss, Gant, Tommy Hilfiger, Hackett, Ralph Lauren, Great Plains, Part Two, Inwear, Masai and more.

If you want fashion, we’ve got it!

Did you know we also have a Womens shoe department at Broadleys?

While many people know that we are one of the longest established clothes shops in East Grinstead, it seems few people still realise that we have a womens shoe department. It’s located on the first floor and offers a wide range of styles with plenty of space to browse.

Again, because of our social distancing policies and restriction of customer numbers, you can rest assured your shoe shopping experience with us will not only be fruitful and enjoyable, but also as safe as possible.

And don’t forget our rich history

Finally, there’s the fact that our premises have a rich history. The building we are in on East Grinstead high street dates back to 1355 (that’s older than Bodiam Castle!). And if you’ve read our Broadleys: Footsteps Through Time feature, you’ll know that our grand building has actually served many purposes over the years, including being the temporary prison where the last martyrs to be burnt at the stake — Anne Tree, Thomas Dunngate and John Foreman — were held on their final night before meeting a gruesome end on 18th July, 1556.

See you soon at Broadleys (we hope)

If you’re a loyal Broadleys customer, thank you. Please come back and see us now that we have reopened. If you’ve never visited our store before, why not pop in the next time you head up East Grinstead high street. At Broadleys, we’ve got everything you need, all under one roof, saving you time, the hassle of traveling and the risk of being exposed to more people unnecessarily.

In the meantime, keep your eye on our website —www.broadleys.co.uk — as we’ll be updating it every time we have some new information so that you can stay fully informed about what’s going on at Broadleys before you venture out.

You really won't find many around like us. So please, shop local and support East Grinstead High Street.

See you soon...
